ORLANDO, Fla. - A late Kenny Cutler goal helped hold the New York Red Bulls to a 1-1 draw against Real Salt Lake on Sunday night at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex. Midfielder Dave van den Bergh scored his team-leading third goal of the preseason as the Red Bulls ended their Florida camp with a 3-1-1 record.

New York had the brunt of the possession and control in the first half with Van den Bergh earning the first chance of the night 10 minutes in when he headed a well-placed cross high.

Nine minutes later, forward Jozy Altidore burst through the center of the field before blasting a low shot that goalkeeper Chase Harrison had to tip away. On the ensuing corner kick, defender Jeff Parke was able to rise up at the far post and put an attempt on goal, but it was cleared off the line.

Real Salt Lake's best chance of the half came when midfielder Freddy Adu earned a free kick deep in New York's half in the 22nd minute. However, Mehdi Ballouchy's attempt sailed high.

Eleven minutes later, Altidore had the Red Bulls best scoring opportunity up to that point. Beating the offside trap, Altidore broke through on the right side of the penalty box and only had Harrison to beat, but he lashed his attempt just past the far post.

Ballouchy soon departed the match moments later after he was given a red card for a hard tackle on defender Marvell Wynne. Because it was a preseason match, the teams agreed to continue playing 11 on 11 despite the ejection.

After consistent pressure, the Red Bulls broke through in the 41st minute. Seth Stammler was able to play a ball to Van den Bergh on the left wing. The midfielder raced into the penalty box before blasting a shot from 15-yards-out that curled into the side netting.

With the Red Bulls only substituting goalkeeper Jon Conway in for Ronald Waterreus at the half, New York looked for a second goal. Two minutes in, midfielder Claudio Reyna launched a free kick from outside the 18-yard box that Kyle Reynish was forced to save. Later, Reynish had to come to Real Salt Lake's rescue again when he acrobatically cleared a dangerous Van den Bergh cross.

Real Salt Lake were able to snip a draw with four minutes left to play. A ball that was played from the right wing went to Carey Talley, who was located near the left post. Talley then volleyed it back to Cutler, who was able to bundle it past Conway.

The match marked the first time in the preseason where sporting director and head coach Bruce Arena had some of his players go the full 90, as Jeff Parke and Wynne each played the entire match.

The Red Bulls return to the New York area on Monday and will train at Giants Stadium starting on Wednesday. The team will depart for Los Angeles -- their second preseason trip of 2007 -- on March 1.
