Pietravallo was acquired by the Red Bulls during the middle of the 2008 season. A hard-nosed holding midfielder, Pietravallo played a key role in the second half of the year, making 12 starts. Pietravallo helped the Red Bulls to a three-game winning streak in August, often by marking the opposing teams' top playmaker.

Professional:

2008: After joining the Red Bulls, Pietravallo made his debut as a substitute on July 19 against Los Angeles. He made his first start on July 27 at San Jose. Recorded one assist in a 5-4 loss to Colorado on Sept. 27. Served as a substitute in two playoff games.
