Corporate Teammate: Hope Insurance Services

Serving as both an attacking and a holding midfielder throughout the season, Ubiparipovic, now in his third-year with the Red Bulls, enjoyed a breakout season in 2008. The former University of Akron product was inserted into head coach Juan Carlos Osorio's Starting XI for the playoffs and he played in all four matches - including the Red Bulls' 3-1 loss to the Columbus Crew in their first-ever MLS Cup Final.

Professional:

2008: One of the Red Bulls' key players down the stretch, Ubiparipovic set a career-high in games played (16) and started (9) and assists (2). Scored his first career goal in a 4-1 win over D.C. United on Aug. 10. Earned a starting role in all four playoff matches and recorded an assist on Dane Richards' opening goal in a 3-0 win over Houston on Nov. 9.

2007: Came on as a reserve in 12 games for the Red Bulls, playing a total of 233 minutes. Added an assist on May 19 against Columbus - his first MLS point.

Collegiate/Club:

Coached at the University of Akron by Caleb Porter, Ubiparipovic was the MAC Player of the Year in 2006 after notching seven goals and seven assists in 17 games. He was also NSCAA First-Team All-Great Lakes Region. Has also been named to the NSCAA All-Great Lakes Second Team and was a Second-Team NSCAA All-American. Spent first season at University of Illinois-Chicago.

Personal:

Born in Zenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Father is Mirko, mother is Vesna. His younger brother, Slavisa, played soccer at Xavier University in Ohio. Majored in sociology/criminal justice. Enjoys sports in general, including basketball and handball. Favorite movies include Braveheart and Wedding Crashers. Lists Top Chef, 24 and Seinfeld as his favorite TV shows. Is a Coldplay and Keane fan.
